WHO DID PATRICK’S HOMEWORK?
Summary
–by Carroll Moore
Patrick, a boy who dislikes homework and was like any other boy who loved outdoor games like basketball, hockey, Nintendo etc. He was a good player but was not interested in studies. One day he discovers a tiny elf when he rescues it from his cat. In gratitude, the elf offers to grant Patrick a wish. Cunningly, Patrick wishes for the elf to do all his homework for the next 35 days.
Despite the elf’s challenges with homework, Patrick assists him in various subjects. The elf struggles with words, math, and history, constantly requiring Patrick’s help. This makes Patrick work harder than ever, staying up late and feeling exhausted.
As the last day of school approaches, the elf is finally free to leave. Patrick has succeeded in getting excellent grades, impressing everyone around him. However, here’s the twist: Patrick realizes that, unknowingly, he had been doing most of the homework himself, thinking the elf did it.
Conclusion
The story teaches us about the value of hard work and effort. While Patrick believed the tiny elf had done his homework, he had actually accomplished it through his determination and dedication. The tale cleverly conveys that success comes from one’s own endeavours, even if they are masked in unexpected ways. This answers the titular question “Who did Patrick’s homework?” and teaches the value of self-help.
